GIU Blog Hop 9/24/17

I'm participating in the Growing in Unity Blog Hop today with some other GIU girls . Please be sure to visit each blog listed below for a chance to win 1 of 2 prizes from Unity Stamp Company. It's no secret how much I love Unity stamps and the one I used today is no exception. I have had it for awhile but hadn't inked it up before. So I guess there's no time like the present !!

I love to paper-piece and this Martha Girl stamp is perfect for that !! But I really think that Angie meant to call this one "Deb Girl"... I stamped the images several times on kraft and Neenah Stardust White cardstock & then went to town coloring and paper-piecing . The woodgrain background seemed perfect for the first days of Fall and I balanced the sentiment on the left side of the image with a cute banner on the right side.

Here is the line-up for the Blog Hop. Your next stop is Michelle's blog. You might have gotten here from Brittany's blog.  Remember to stop at all of the  posts and comment for a chance at a prize from Unity.

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste 9/24

This month Celeste and I and our guest are celebrating some new stamps designed by a friend of ours.  Terri Burson has been my friend since we met through our love of stamping back in 2014. I was a member of Mountain Plains Crafters with her and several others. We posted our papercrafting projects on our Facebook page and on our blogs. We had blog hops and promoted many company's great supplies. Well, long story short, Terri has just had some of her designs made into stamps with So Suzy Stamps. She has always been a fabulous doodler and drew on her projects, which everyone raved about. So ----------- today our guest, Jennifer Leamy Loftfield ( who was also on the design team of Mountain Plains Crafters ) is helping Celeste and I, as we all make cards with Terri's just released stamps !! Terri knew we would be using her stamps today but did not know Jennifer would be joining us .. Surprise !!!

My card today has a vintage feel and was made to reflect the ornaments my parents had on their first Christmas trees. They were thinking of starting a family and placed pink and turquoise glass ornaments on the always fresh-cut Christmas trees. All these years later, I still have some of them and they are treasured beyond belief.  As my brother and I came along, more traditional ornaments were added and I loved hanging each and every one on the branches.

  • I stamped Terri's Wreath image onto a piece of pink scrap paper from my hoarded Basic Grey collection.
  • The ink I used was Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Iced Spruce .This is a blue/green/grey ink  and one of my favorite Distress colors .
  • I actually used the hole punch on my Cropodile to punch out the berries on the wreath using scrap paper in pinks and pale turquoise.
  • Although it is hard to see on the wreath, I created shimmer with Swarovski crystals, Wink of Stella Clear and Frosted Lace Stickles.
  • Tombow Adhesive adhered the pink paper to a white card base and also all of the elements to the wreath. I used the Permanent Adhesive Runner and MONO Aqua liquid glue.
  • The rick-rack Christmas banner at the top of the card and the angel in the wreath's center are from the My Mind's Eye All is Bright collection. Nostalgia alert : my mom sewed many of my clothes when I was young and loved to use rick-rack. So, that banner was exactly what I was looking for !!
  • Prima's Lifetime Collection  had the  Memories chipboard piece that finished off my card.

You can see Celeste's card at Crafting Junky. And Jennifer's card can be found at Caffeinated Papercuts. Jennifer is as passionate about coffee as Celeste and I are ( if that is possible ). I mean, look at her blog name !!! We are so excited that she joined us to celebrate Terri's first ever stamp release !!

And now on to my coffee for today.. I had some wonderful girl time with an old friend from my ICU days and of course, we stopped at Starbucks !! I had an Iced Maple Pecan Latte and it was as amazing as its name .. I can see many more in my future.

You can see all 4 of Terri's stamps with So Suzy here. Leave me a comment and show Terri some love. I'll choose 1 lucky commenter to get a card from me made with Terri's stamps. You can check out Terri's blog at Waving My Wand. We'd love for you to follow all of our blogs. Celeste and I will be back again next month with another guest. Let us know if you would like to join us ..

Java Girl / #fall2017clh

Today's tag is my last link  - # 1035- for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I just had to use the new Java Girl stamp  from Rubber Moon that easily has to be one of my new favorites !!  For those that comment on all of my links for this Hop, you will be entered into a random drawing to win one of these Java Girl stamps .. I also have links at # 108, 357, and 697. Rubber Moon is a also sponsor of the Fall Blog Hop.. Look for some more fun coffee stamps from them in the future.

  • I started with a tag that had a musical background.
  • The Java Girl image was stamped on a scrap of  light brown ledger paper, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. It was then mounted onto a piece of brown glitter paper with turquoise staples.
  • Light Pink Mosaic Thickers from American Crafts were used to spell out the word "Coffee" along the Right side of the tag. I then adhered the Java Girl image to the tag.
  • I placed a strip of washi tape and a red glitter heart on a wooden coffee cup and adhered it under the word "Coffee".
  • Altenew's Coffee Ring stamp was used to create the rings on the tag., using Memento Rich Cocoa ink
  • I colored a few small areas on the Java Girl with my Distress Markers
  • A piece of Autumn-hued ribbon completed the tag.

Thank you so much for visiting Meticulosity during this Hop to see all of my projects. This Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop already has over 1,000 links and many wonderful Sponsors, including Rubber Moon, who have all  provided great prizes..  Take some time to look at the linked projects -- they are all such fun !! Time For Tea / #fall2017clh

Well, the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is in full swing with close to 700 links already !! Today I've created a Tea card because I think I might just like tea as much as I like coffee. Have you tried the new Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte at Starbucks yet ?? Might just have to do that soon .. I'm playing with more Rubber Moon stamps today . I used Corner SunCheckered Moon, and Lou Moon

Rubber Moon is a new sponsor for the Blog Hop with a prize of a $20 gift certificate.  I am also having a giveaway for those who comment on each of my cards throughout this Hop !! So far, I have linked 3, # 108 and # 357 and # 697.

  • On a Moss Green card base, I adhered a piece of  Ki Memories "Vintage Charm"  paper. I  think I went with a quirky vintage feel for this card. I love mixing different paper patterns and this card is no exception.
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink was used to stamp all 3 images mentioned above.  I stamped on my go-to favorite, Neenah Stardust White and also on Strathmore Mixed Media. The Corner Sun and Checkered Moon were also stamped on several patterns of Pumpkin Spice Paper by Craft Smith, fussy cut and used to make the paper-pieced images.
  • I die cut those cute tea cups and tea bag with the Sizzix Tea Cups Dies. Again, I used that fabulous Craft Smith "Pumpkin Spice" paper pad.
  • My Distress Markers and Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pens added Autumn colors to my images.
  • I assembled the card using Tombow Adhesive - both the Permanent Tape Runner and MONO Aqua Liquid Glue. A piece of Turquoise Scrappy Floss was used on the tea bag and attached with a tiny staple.
  • The Corner Sun was paper-pieced and adhered to the upper L side of the card. Checkered Moon was paper-pieced and adhered to the lower tea cup.The cups were then stacked and adhered to the background paper.
  • Recollections Wood-Grain letters spelled out TEA next to the sun and some Fall-colored sequins created seam coming out of my cup. I think it just might be that Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte that I want to try !!
  • Can't forget some shimmer on the fun sun and moon designs with a ZIG Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush.

Again, thank you so much for visiting Meticulosity and validating my creative spirit !!  I hope you are finding some inspiration here and in all the great links over at the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. Comment on all of my posts for this Hop and you could win this new stamp by Rubber Moon. A  Java Girl -- how perfect !!

My Alone Time / #fall2017clh

I absolutely love ALL things about rubber stamping, I also have a bit of a snarky, sarcastic side. This probably isn't much of a secret to my close friends. I love bringing out that side in the cards I create and this Dark Coffee set from STAMPlorations is just perfect.  It is from the Big Grins by Becca Cruger line and I'm thinking that maybe she and I are long lost relatives -- we have the same sort of sense of humor.

My Alone Time is For Everyone's Safety

  • On a  DCWV  tag, I stamped the Dark Coffee Gal in the lower Right corner and colored her with my Distress Markers and Faber-Castell PITT Artist pens . She was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and her glasses were stamped with Clearsnap ColorBox Fireberry.
  • The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of fall-patterned paper and attached to the tag with a copper staple.
  • I placed a bit of Fall-themed washi on the tag, then tied a bit of Maya Road twine cording to the top of the tag. .
  • A turquoise rhinestone made the perfect earring for this gal and a bit of coppery tinsel glitter added a touch of shimmer to the coffee.
  • The tag was popped up on the Paperlove card base with foam dimensionals.

The image of this coffee gal really reminds me of my mom. I colored her hair like my mom's and put the glasses on her like my mom  wore. I don't think I really even thought of this when I ordered the stamp set, but then when I inked it and stamped it, there SHE was !! As you can see in the picture I posted, it's pretty close !!

This is my second card for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. They have 83 amazing Sponsors with a chance at some fantastic prizes for those that link up their projects. There are already over 350 projects linked and it is only Day 2, The Hop  runs from September 15-22.

Thank you for visiting Meticulosity !! I'd love for you to follow my blog. I am also having a giveaway during the Hop. If you comment on each of my projects linked to this Fall Hop, you have a chance to win a fabulous limited edition stamp - Java Girl from Rubber Moon.

Yawning & Screaming / #fall2017clh

It's that time of year again.. The leaves change color, it gets chilly at night, sweaters are worn and Pumpkin Spice is back !! And another reason to love this time of year is the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.It's time for coffee, tea, and cocoa lovers to link up their Fall-themed creations and be inspired by the massive amounts of creativity .. Also to be enabled to buy all of the new fun coffee stamps recently released .. AND for a chance at some amazing prizes from tons of sponsors.. It's a win-win situation, if you ask me !!

A new sponsor this year is Rubber Moon and I'll be playing with many of their stamps throughout the Hop .. Since this time of year also involves Halloween, I thought that for my first card I would use this fun Sugar Doddy stamp. You can create a coffee card even if you don't have many - or any - coffee stamps .  ( But to be completely honest, we all know that I don't have THAT problem )

Thank you for visiting Meticulosity .. Please take a moment to sign up and follow my blog. I will be posting a few more cards during the Hop. If you comment on all of my 2017 Fall blog hop posts , you have a chance to win a  fun new limited edition Rubber Moon stamp, Java Girl. How perfect is she ?!?!?!

Sweet Tweets

You all must know by now how much I love rubber stamps !! Some might say that I have an obsession with stamps. I've been playing with some great new releases by Rubber Moon and they are just SO much fun to work with. Tweets and Chirps by Lori Sparkly Franklin has the sweetest, most fun images. Lori is an amazing mixed-media artist - she paints, she makes jewelry, she designs stamps . Lori says that she doesn't remember playing with Barbies as a child, but a new box of CRAYOLAS was ecstasy ! A woman after my own heart. I hope you will love her new line as much as I do !! These birdies are my new best friends ..

  •  I started with some pastel card bases - 2 solid and a diagonal striped. Doilies are a favorite supply of mine, so I added 1 to each base.
  • Journaling cards are fun to stamp on and quick when you want something to stamp on, but don't want or have time to measure and cut. These are from the Charming Collection by Becky Higgins for Project Life.
  • I'm all about using scraps of paper on my projects and the clouds and banners were both paper-punched using bits and pieces from my scrap drawers.
  • The stamps are Identical Tweets & Just a Little Note and were inked with Memento Tuxedo Black . I stamped the images directly on the journal card and bird images also on scraps of patterned paper. These birds were then fussy-cut and paper-pieced.
  • Washi was placed on all 3 cards ( I'm washi-obsessed, too ) . Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue adhered all of the elements to the cards.
  • A piece of long-hoarded Scrappy Floss by Karen Foster gave a pop of color to the banners. I have this floss in red and turquoise and it came in containers that look like  dental floss !! It has been discontinued so I use it sparingly. I never complain about having to floss when I use this !!

From start to finish these 3 cards took me about 30 minutes ! I wanted to play with these new stamps but didn't have much time, so I used what was easily at hand. There are many other stamps in this Tweets and Chirps collection and I can't wait to ink them up. Another reason I loved this collection so much was that it included another LOVE of mine -- BOOKS !! These will be the next stamps I play with !!

I hope you will take care of yourself today and do something for YOU !
Spend some time outside looking at the birds .
Ink up a new stamp set ..
Check out all the amazing stamps at Rubber Moon.
Buy yourself a Sweet Tweet ...
